Fostering and Recognizing Excellence in Research
The Office of Research Chairs, Centres and Awards is the place to turn for guidance and information about internal and external Chair programs; the creation-function-evaluation of university research centres and institutes; and university-based as well as major provincial, national and international external research awards and recognition.
Research funding and infrastructure
The University's Office of Strategic Development Initiatives (SDI) is the primary resource for information on grants and contracts to support the specialized facilities and equipment that are essential to some research activities.
Grants
Research Management Services oversees the various steps taken by University researchers to obtain grants for their work, from application procedures to financial reporting.
Intellectual Property and Contract Research
The Technology Transfer and Business Enterprise (TTBE) has defined policies and procedures to help University of Ottawa researchers determine the disposition of intellectual property created by their work. It also administers formal contracts supporting research, a substantial and growing portion of the total research funding at the University of Ottawa.
