Access uOttawa wireless with Apple Mac OS X 10.6
Ten steps to get connected
You should associate onlywith one of the University’s two wireless networks : uOttawa or uOttawa-WPA.
Click on the Apple icon at the top left corner and select System Preferences.
Under the section Internet and Wireless, select Network.

If AirPort is not in the left menu, click on the "+" sign and create the AirPort. Afterwards select AirPort in the left menu and click on the Advanced button.

Select the Airport tab in the list and click on the “+” to add a network.

In the following window, fill in the blanks as follows:

- Network name: uOttawa-WPA
- Security: WPA2 Entreprise (or WPA Entreprise)
- User name and password: Student number for students and E+ employee number for employees ( If your uoZone / InfoWeb password has more than eight characters, type in only the first eight. )
- 802.1X: select Automatic for the first time
- Click on the Add button.
uOttawa-WPA should now be listed in your Preferred Networks. Click the OK button.

Now click Apply and select uOttawa-WPA beside the Network Name.
In the Verify Certificate window, click on the Show Certificate button.

Put a check mark beside Always trust "mobile.uottawa.ca" and click Continue.
You will be asked for your System Password. Enter your password and click OK.

Note that the University’s networks, use encryption to prevent others from viewing your traffic.
