Architecture and music have always had a very close relationship with one another. Now, a children’s series of five workshops, ArchiMusi, brings them both together in a fun and creative way for children interested in learning more about the history of music and architecture.
Participants will be given a chance to discover the periods in history that shaped musical creation and learn about different composers, various instruments from these periods and ways in which music was made. Children will also be introduced to some of the world’s famous and not so famous architects who lived during these times and created the buildings that graced the landscape.
Activities include interactive games and presentations as well as listening to musical excerpts. The workshops are held on campus thanks to the collaboration of the University of Ottawa’s School of Music.
