Justin Thibault had such a great experience at the University of Ottawa that he stayed to study psychology when he finished his political science degree with minor in history. “Here I am continuing my studies in another field just to reap all the benefits of uOttawa,” he says. For Justin, the University really prepares students well for the future, in terms of both student life and the importance placed on academic success.

He particularly likes the community spirit that permeates the University. He made his own contribution to that spirit as a student ambassador and as a community advisor in residence. Justin also chaired various University committees: for example, he was a student judge for the 2012 Good Ideas Contest, which invites students to suggest ideas to improve the university experience.

Justin chose the University of Ottawa for several reasons, such as the feeling of Francophone pride the institution promotes. He salutes the importance that uOttawa places on bilingualism. “I’ve always been proud to be Franco-Ontarian. The University of Ottawa lets me wear my cultural heritage on my sleeve and pursue my studies in my native language.”
