This procedure uses Windows Zero Configuration and subsequently disables all pre-installed wireless management utilities. You may need to reconfigure your system to accommodate your other wireless networks (e.g. home wireless).
From the Start Menu, choose Control Panel and then Network and Sharing Center.
In the left-hand menu, choose Manage Wireless Network and click on Add.
Choose Manually create a network profile and enter the details in Step 4.
Enter the following details:

- Network name: uOttawa-WPA (case sensitive)
- Security type: WPA2-Enterprise Encryption
- Type: AES
- Click on the Next button
Choose Change connection settings in the next window.
Click on the Security tab
Set the EAP settings

- Change Network Authentication Method to Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Place a check mark beside Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network
- Click on the Setting button.
- Place a check mark beside Validate server certificate.
- Place a check mark beside Connect to these servers and type mobile.uottawa.ca
- In the Trusted Root Certification Authorities list, scroll down and place a check mark beside Thawte Premium Server CA.
- From the Authentication Method drop down menu, select Secured Password (EAP – MSCHAP v2)
- Click on the Configure button
In the next window, uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon...
Click on OK three times then on Close.
