Health and Safety
Through its health and safety policies, the Faculty of Engineering is committed to:
- promoting health and safety principles and prevention strategies
- interpreting the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
- conducting safety assessments and evaluations
- investigating incidents/accidents and other safety-related concerns and complaints
- providing applicable training
- addressing many other safety-related issues

- Print and fill out the Orientation for Laboratory Personnel form and return it to your department/school secretariat.
- If you will not be working in a lab, print and fill out the Orientation for New Personnel form
- Print and fill out a key request form and the card access form if necessary and return it to your department/school secretariat.

- Complete the online WHMIS course
- Read about your roles and responsibilities
- Attend a laboratory safety course.
- Consult the Laboratory Safety Manual (PDF).
Any problems related to building maintenance should be reported immediately to your supervisor or the administrative assistant or administrative officer in your department/school. Contact the administrative personnel of your department/school if you need any assistance or if you don’t have access to a computer.
