Programme intensif de français (PIF)

From August 6 to 23, 2013

Objectives

This is an integrated four-skill course (listening, speaking, reading and writing), featuring vocabulary development and improvement of grammar skills.

Levels

Levels for which there is sufficient interest will be offered.

Content

You will have 21 hours of classes each week, including work in our language laboratories to improve pronunciation and develop listening and speaking skills.

There will be plenty of opportunity for oral practice. Optional socio-cultural activities will be offered.

Tuition Fees

$1,400

Timetable

  • Morning: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • The Afternoon: Schedule will be six hours divided over four days (Monday to Thursday). Courses normally end at 2:30 p.m.

Admission Requirements

In order to determine if you are at the appropriate level to register for the intensive course you need to take a Proficiency test.

If you are a student at the University of Ottawa and have already taken the Proficiency test (either for admission to French immersion studies or in order to take an immersion course), please contact our office to inform us that you have taken the test.

If you are applying to French immersion studies and have not yet taken the Immersion Admission Test, please do so by following this link www.immersion.uOttawa.ca. When you have completed the test please contact our office to inform us that you have taken the test.

If you have a University of Ottawa student number (you are a current or past University of Ottawa student or have applied to the University in the past), you must take the test by following this link.

Please note that if you don't remember your student number, you can contact the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute at 613-562-5743. When you have completed the test please contact our office to inform us that you have taken the test.
