The Classics sector collaborates with the Religious Studies sector in a regional research network, the Ottawa Network for the Study of Late Antiquity, which is based in the department.
The Ottawa Network for the Study of Late Antiquity
The Network promotes the study of the culture of the Mediterranean world from the 3rd to the 7th century, a period of remarkable religious, political, and socioeconomic changes. Its members are drawn from universities in the region of Ottawa, and are experts in rhetoric, history, historiography, religion, philosophy, palaeography, papyrology, epigraphy, and ancient languages (Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Aramaic, Coptic, Ethiopic, Syriac).
