A reassuring presence on campus
Encourage an excellent quality of life on campus while assuring a secure environment for the University community: that is the principal objective of the University of Ottawa's Protection Services.
They offer a host of services to students and employees in addition to keeping an eye to ensure order on campus. For example, Protection Services provides tips to minimize theft, offers self-defense courses, manages a bicycle sharing program and maintains a carpooling database. In fact, Protection Services is a leader when it comes to sustainable transportation.
Employees of the Service participate actively in university life, whether it is through non-perishable food drives, activities to raise money in the fight against cancer, or, more recently, the Right to Respect campaign that was launched on September 28, 2009 in close collaboration with student associations.
With a campaign slogan Help us Help you!, the Protection Services, celebrating 40 years of service this year, invites members of the University community to become familiar with the full range of resources they offer to optimize campus security, adopt sustainable transportation habits and take full advantage of a rich university life.
