Michaëlle Jean installed as Chancellor of uOttawa at Spring Convocation

The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean assumed the position of Chancellor of the University of Ottawa on February 1, 2012. On June 2, Ms. Jean was officially installed in her role as Chancellor during the first Convocation ceremony. She presided over all Convocation ceremonies, which took place between June 2 and 5 at the National Arts Centre.

"I'm happy to participate in this very special event," said Ms. Jean. "It's a chance to share this proud moment with students and applaud them for their achievement."

Convocation is a time for graduating students to celebrate their accomplishments in front of family and friends. For members of the University community, it is a time to celebrate the efforts of students they have supported during their studies at the University of Ottawa.
