Meet the students of the 2011-2012 recruitment campaign: Brendan Gillanders
The theme of this year's recruitment campaign reflects the aspirations of our 40,000+ students and the everyday reality of our researchers. This totally made-at-uOttawa campaign features students that are involved in research that resonates not only in Canada, but also in countries around the world.

A trainer in training
Brendan Gillanders' passion for fitness, sports and football brought him to the University of Ottawa, where he is now a third-year student in the Faculty of Health Sciences and a running back for the Gee-Gees football team.
Originally from British Columbia and more recently a graduate from Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School in Orléans, Ontario, Brendan chose the University of Ottawa for the human kinetics program, the opportunity to play football and the convenience of staying close to home.
Brendan, who enjoys working out and spending time outdoors, is hoping to blend his love of sports and fitness with the science of bio-mechanics and the study of human movement to help him make a career of training athletes.
"I'm primarily interested in the strength-training portion of physical fitness, and my ideal job after I graduate would be to work with and train elite athletes."
