Biography
Martin Golland received his MFA from the University of Guelph (2006) and his BFA from Concordia University (1998). Golland was born in Montpellier, France, and lived in Turkey, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Toronto before moving to Ottawa. Golland has exhibited nationally and internationally, including « Skeletons & Skins » (2010) and Shapeshift“ (2008)at Birch Libralato in Toronto , “DARK TOWN” at the Felix Ringel Galerie in Duesseldorf (2007), “What is said and what is meant” at the MacDonald Stewart Art Center in Guelph (2006) and “Haven” at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (2004). He has received an Honorable Mention Prize at the 11th Annual RBC Painting Competition, which was exhibited in various museums and galleries across Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Power Plant, the Musee D’art Contemporain, and the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver.
