School of Nursing holds AGM and announces new Loyer-DaSilva Research Chair in Public Health NursingOn June 18, the School of Nursing held its Annual General Meeting. Director Dave Holmes tabled the 2011 annual report and presented the highlights. With 2011 wrapped up, he then introduced, alongside Dr. Marie Loyer, founder of the Marie des Anges Loyer-Da Silva Research Chair on Public Health Nursing, the new chair holder, Professor Josephine Etowa.
Catherine Boutet, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, wins a Consortium national de formation en santé scholarship
A New Brunswick native, Catherine is one of three uOttawa candidates that were singled out by the CNFS selection committee for their commitment to studying healthcare and towards a Francophone minority community, as well as for the active role they play in student life at their institution.
Team FHS wins the Golden Stethoscope Award at the 2012 Nursing Games hosted by Western University
The Golden Stethoscope is awarded to the team that scores the most points in the academic challenges (theoretical questions and clinical simulations). Team FHS (pictured above) was made up of 28 undergraduate Nursing students.
