Associate Vice-President, Student Services

Lucie Mercier-Gauthier was appointed Associate Vice-President, Student Services May 16, 2010.

Biography: 

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (1979) from the University of Ottawa. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1982.

Most of her career has been spent at the University of Ottawa, in a variety of leadership roles. Since 1983, Lucie Mercier-Gauthier has held many positions, including Associate Vice-President, Financial Resources (2005-2010), Director of Financial Services (1993-2005), Director of the Compensation Centre (1990-1993) and Director of the Internal Audit Office (1983-1990).

Role: 

The Associate Vice-President, Student Services is responsible for ensuring continuous improvement of the student experience as well as for providing strategic direction to the following group of University services: Sports Services, Housing and Conventions Services, Food Services, Community Life Service, the University of Ottawa Bookstore, and Materials Management Services.

As a business leader within the University, the Associate Vice-President, Student Services focuses on developing and implementing strategies to improve the student experience, particularly in non-academic services. She also focuses on the measurement of student satisfaction, performance management, risk management and supplier management. She is responsible for ensuring the implementation of strategies that will guarantee long-term financing of these services and their initiatives.
