Created in June 2008, the School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS) unites the Honours in International Development and Globalization and the Masters in Globalization and International Development.

Carlo Dade, senior fellow at the School of International Development and Global Studies, spoke to CIDA Policy Planning staff and partner organisations on the role of diasporas in international development. The event was organised by Charmaine Bene, SIDGS's 2nd year MA student and CIDA co-op placement.

- Stephen Baranyi, professor at the School of International Development and Global Studies, presented Whose reconstruction? A closer look at priorities in education and security at the university of Waterloo, may 31st 2012, during CASID Development Forum on Post-Earthquake Reconstruction in Haiti.
- Stephen Baranyi, professor at the School of International Development and Global Studies, presented a paper with professors: Pierre Beaudet and Lydia Bernier at the Fourth Annual Capital Region Latin American and Caribbean Studies. The conference was held April 20th and 21st 2012 on "Coopération Sud-Sud et reconstruction en Haiti".
