The
Summer Music Program is offered annually in partnership with the uOttawa School of Music. It is comprised of music theory, history and ear training courses designed specifically to prepare students to successfully complete the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.
Ear training and sight singing are strongly recommended for a more complete musical education. Courses are
geared to the ear test requirements of RCM practical examinations.
2012 PROGRAM
Our courses are scheduled to finish just prior to the 2012 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Examinations to be held this year on August 10 and 11. You can register on-line for your RCM examination at www.rcmexaminations.org. Please note that the exam fee, payable to the RCM, is NOT included in the price of the course.
The University of Ottawa SUMMER MUSIC courses will start on July 3 and run every weekday until August 8. There will be no classes on August 6, statutory holiday.
Intensive Training
Compressed courses combined quality teaching with personalized feedback attention. Free one-on-one tutoring is available daily.
Because there are compressed and demanding courses, a maximum of two courses per student is generally recommended. Plan for 2-3 hours of homework per day for each course.
