Marion Hall is now wireless!
September 29, 2009 - Over the past few months, CCS has been installing an improved wireless network in Marion Hall. This network will provide comprehensive wireless Internet access throughout the building.
We are pleased to announce that installation and testing has been successfully completed, and wireless Internet users can now connect anytime, anywhere in Marion Hall.
The improved wireless network offers increased security, reliability and faster Internet-based services for students, professors and support staff.
It is important to note that this new wireless service is intended for non-business related purposes. It should not be considered as an alternative access mode to systems, such as Student Information Systems, Point of Sales Systems, Finance and Human Resources Management systems, and any partner administrative systems.
The Marion Hall deployment is part of the University of Ottawa’s Wireless Campus Project. Once completed, this project will ensure complete wireless Internet coverage to the majority of buildings at the University of Ottawa.
This high-priority objective has been approved and funded by the Administrative Committee as part of the strategic initiatives outlined in the Vision 2010 Academic Strategic Plan.
