Association des étudiant(e)s en traduction / Translation Student's Association AETTSA

The AETTSA represents the students of the STI. It was formed to help students during their studies at the University. AETTSA can provide students with information on programs, courses and professors, and it organizes activities for STI students to have fun and make friends.

Volunteer Translator Database

The Volunteer Translator Database is an initiative of the Translation Students' Association allowing students enrolled at the School of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Ottawa to gain concrete experience in their field. The students will translate various texts submitted by other student association on campus. Even when enrolled in the program, there is no amount of work required or weekly or monthly meeting to attend. The only requirement is that the student fill in a student contract and have it signed by a professor of the STI.

Association of Graduate Students in Translation and Interpretation — GASTI

The Graduate Association of Student Translators and Interpreters (GASTI) represents students in the masters (Master of Arts in Translation, Master in Conference Interpreting and Master in Spanish Translation) and doctoral programs offered at the School of Translation and Interpretation. We are affiliated with and receive funding from GSAÉD, the Graduate Students’ Association.

Our mandate is to respond to students’ questions and concerns, to keep students informed and to organize social and academic activities. A large proportion of STI’s graduate students are international, and the Association makes an effort to reflect this variety in our operation.
