Join FHS Nursing students and be Alive to Strive on April 29, 2012Walk or run for kidney health! FHS nursing students will be on site to take participants' blood pressure as part of a health check to raise awareness on chronic kidney disease (high blood pressure is one of the leading causes of kidney failure). Proceeds will go to the Alive to Strive Kidney Fitness Project, co-founded and chaired by nursing student Marie-Eve Chainey.
New book: “Corps suspect, corps déviant”
Professor Dave Holmes, director of the School of Nursing, contributed to this new book (in French), which examines multiple social constructions of the deviant body, in particular the female body, revealing the interaction between discourse and prevailing practices.
Team FHS wins the Golden Stethoscope Award at the 2012 Nursing Games hosted by Western University
The Golden Stethoscope is awarded to the team that scores the most points in the academic challenges (theoretical questions and clinical simulations). Team FHS (pictured above) was made up of 28 undergraduate Nursing students.
