This year, we are proud to welcome Bernard Derome, journalist, anchorman and television show host. His conference entitled “Un pays, deux francophonies” will take place in the Desmarais building, room 12102, Thursday March 22nd. It will be followed by a question period and a reception.
Un pays, deux francophonies
In summary, this presentation traces the very different journeys of the Québécois and Canadian Francophonies, through Bernard Derome’s experience as a journalist and a media professional. Through the years, Radio-Canada and various other Francophone media have played a crucial role in protecting the Canadian Francophonies and promoting their vitality throughout Canada. In this era of new media, how can we foresee the future of the French language and these contrasting Francophonies within these two Canadian solitudes?
