Computing Services

Faculties and Services
It is proposed that by October 1, 2009, each faculty and service will present to the Steering Committee a 2010-2011 fiscal plan which will setup savings in expenditures and increases in income. This will represent represent at least 5 per cent of current budget amounts, identifies initiatives for this purpose, and specifies the repercussions of the proposed initiatives on the quality of the university experience, on research and on the services concerned. These initiatives will also be carefully evaluated by the Administrative Committee and all deans in the fall of 2009. An information kit on changing costs, as well as a template designed to facilitate the evaluation of the proposed initiatives, will be made available to each faculty and service.
Human Resources
General mandate
To develop and analyze, and carry out a preliminary evaluation of:
- a hiring freeze;
- collective agreements involving a change in wage expectations;
- reduced employer contributions or, where applicable, reduced pension-plan benefits;
- “tailor-made” benefits packages for employees;
- days of unpaid leave; and
- a targeted early-retirement program.

To review current practices in project and operations management, and in the management of ageing or outdated facilities (including energy costs), in order to optimize allocated resources.
