Online Web Application Form
Welcome to our new online web application form for part-time academic positions. If you are an employee or a student, please login with your InfoWeb account. If you enter using your employee number, do not enter the full 9-digit number, ex. your number is 100123456, exclude the leading one and zeros and enter only 123456.
For employees and students, your first application may be a bit time consuming, but subsequent applications will be pre-populated for you, based on your most recent application.
We suggest that you first go through the postings and note the posting number(s) that you wish to apply for. We also strongly suggest that you open two browser pages at the same time so that you may refer back to the postings while you are actually filling in your application.
After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email. All official correspondence from the University of Ottawa shall be made through the email account determined by the University, except for visitors prior to their hire, if applicable.
Job Postings
When you click on the ‘Apply to Posting’ button, that posting will be added for you in the ‘Job Postings’ tab. You can then add an unlimited number of postings by using the ‘Insert Row’ button.
When you click on the ‘Insert Row’ button, a pop-up window will appear with all of the available postings for that session, faculty and academic unit. Click on the posting you want to add and then click on the ‘OK’ button. Repeat this for as many postings you wish to apply for.
Once you have added all of them, you can double click in the ‘Order of Preference’ column to renumber your selections.
If you change your mind, you can click on any posting and delete that row by clicking on the ‘Delete Row’ button. A pop-up will ask you to confirm your deletion.
Education
In the ‘Education’ tab, use the ‘Insert Row’ button to add additional lines as required. Each time the ‘Insert Row’ button is clicked, a blank line appears and your cursor appears in the first box. Enter your Degree and Discipline and then use the TAB key to enter the Year of Completion box (ex: year 1998) and to enter the Institution. If you want to change any of the information, simply double click in that box. If you insert a row and do not fill it in then select that row and click on the ‘Delete Row’ button. A blank row will cause an error.
Teaching UO
In the ‘Teaching UO’ tab, you can list all of the courses that you have taught at the University of Ottawa. If, for example, you have taught a course more than once and consecutively, you can enter the academic year as a range and give the total of credits and points (ex. from 2003 to 2007 as 03-07). If you want to change any of the information, simply double click in that box. If you insert a row and do not fill it in then select that row and click on the ‘Delete Row’ button. A blank row will cause an error.
Other Teaching
For ‘Other Teaching’, you can list all of the courses that you have taught at other institutions. If, for example, you have taught a course more than once and consecutively, you can enter the academic year as a range (ex. from 2003 to 2007 as 03-07). If you want to change any of the information, simply double click in that box. If you insert a row and do not fill it in then select that row and click on the ‘Delete Row’ button. A blank row will cause an error.
Seniority
If you are an APTPUO member, the ‘Seniority’ tab will give you a summary of your seniority points to date. You have the option of entering a different amount in the right hand column for points A and B.
If you are currently teaching one or more courses, those points will not be included in the summary since they do not take effect until the end of the session.
Comments
In the ‘Comments’ tab, please fill in your availability and any other qualifications or experience that you feel is relevant.
Submit Application
Once you are finished, please press the ‘
Submit Application’ button.
If you change your mind and you do not wish to fill in a form, then you can press the ‘
Back to Search’ button and you will return to the page of available postings.
At this point all information you may have entered will be lost.
Once you have submitted your application, a Thank you page will appear confirming your application number and you will have the ability to upload your curriculum vitae.
C.V.
Use the ‘Browse’ button to access your document and then press the ‘Submit C.V. for Application’ button. Once complete, the message ‘Upload Complete’ will appear. Note: only Word and PDF documents can be submitted.
