You Can Now Access the Wireless Network Anytime and Anywhere in Simard Hall!
December 5, 2008 - Over the past few months, CCS has been installing an improved wireless network in Simard Hall; this network will provide comprehensive wireless internet access throughout the building.
We are pleased to announce that installation and testing has been completed, and wireless internet users can now connect anytime, anywhere in Simard Hall.
The improved wireless network offers increased security, reliability and faster Internet-based services for students, professors and support staff.
The Simard deployment is part of the Wireless Campus Project. This project is a transformational project to ensure the complete wireless internet coverage of a majority of the buildings at the University of Ottawa. View the complete list of our upcoming deployments
Comprehensive wireless coverage is currently available in the following buildings:
- Desmarais Hall
- University Centre
- Lamoureux Hall
- Montpetit Hall
- Arts Building
This high-priority project has been approved and funded by the Administrative Committee as part of the strategic initiative outlined in the University Plan Vision 2010.
