The Just Investment Coalition (CIJIC) will be hosting a panel of guest speakers who will be shedding their insight on the state of corporate investment in our society. This event is a great opportunity to learn about the issue of ethical investments, some historical and present-time divestment efforts, and how this applies to the University of Ottawa, specifically where your tuition fees are going. Following the panel we will be hosting a discussion about ethical and unethical investment and the roles of students, staff, professors and community members in the campaign for just investments. The event will be partly in English and partly in French. Food will be served at the event. The following presenters will be speaking at this event: Reem Bushaisi • Reem is a Carleton student and member of the group Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA) Jennifer Moore • Jennifer is a representative of Mining Watch, a non-profit organization based out of Ottawa Daniel Cayley-Daoust • Daniel Is a member of CIJIC and works for the Polaris Institute • Daniel has worked on climate justice, tar sands and water privatization campaigns.
