When I met with the newly elected executives of the SFUO last spring, one of their key objectives was to create a reading week in the fall session so as to better pace students' academic work, provide a break and relieve some of the pressure all students feel as mid-terms and exams approach.

Well, an annual October study week is now a reality. The Senate adopted the measure unanimously on December 7, 2009. The dates for 2010 are October 24 to 30. Many thanks to the hard-working team of students and staff who worked out all the details of this complex initiative. Bravo!
