Printer Repairs
NEX Innovations is our service provider of choice for printer repair. Whether a printer is under warranty or is no longer under warranty, NEX Innovations will be enlisted to provide service on printers. They are HP and Lexmark authorized and have been providing the University with excellent service over the past several years.
Procedure:
Fill out an online help form: http://www.ccs.uottawa.ca/cybersos/ or call the Computing Help Centre at 613-562-5800 extension 6555.
Information required for the service request:
- Make and Model Number
- Serial Number
- Location
- Contact information
- Purchase Order (PO#) or credit card # if the call is chargeable
Pricing:
- Printer repair estimates are $50.00 (if the client accepts the estimated cost of repair, this fee is waived and actual repair costs will be charged).
- Printer repair fee is $65.00/hour.
- Some printers only come with a standard “return to depot” warranty of 1 year. If the warranty was not upgraded at time of purchase then NEX Innovations can secure the equipment free of charge, however, they will charge a fee to install the part (based on the hourly fee).
- If the original warranty was upgraded to “on-site”, then there will be no fee for the service call.
Assumptions:
- The minimum charge will be for 1 hour (half hour increments will be rounded to the next hour).
- The charge for after hours support will be a minimum of 2 hours (half hour increments will be rounded to the next hour).
- NEX Innovations will not be liable to repair any manufacturer's equipment where parts are no longer commercially available.
- If a client accepts an estimated cost of repair, the estimate fee of $50.00 will be waived and actual repair costs will be charged.
