The Foundation of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario: Scholarships, Awards and Research Grants (ATIO)

Research grants

The Foundation supports research projects that have the potential to advance and promote the language professions represented at ATIO.

Eligibility criteria

  • be enrolled in a translation program or be a recognized independent researcher
  • have a strong academic record
  • demonstrate financial need

Deadline

Grant application forms can be filed at any time.

Study scholarship

Value of $1,000 (in 2001) and presented in the fall to one or more students registered in one of the translation or interpretation programs at the STI.

Eligibility criteria

  • be enrolled in a translation program or be a recognized independent researcher
  • have a strong academic record
  • demonstrate financial need

Deadline

Applications must be filed at the School of Translation and Interpretation before September 15.

Excellence award

Value of $500 (in 2001) and presented at convocation. This award recognizes academic excellence by one or more recent graduates.

Eligibility criteria

  • candidates must receive their diploma at the graduation ceremony
  • have an excellent academic record

Deadline

Applications must be filed at the School of Translation and Interpretation before April 1.
