This site is primarily to document all information regarding InfoWeb: infrastructure, FAQs, outstanding issues, etc
Recommended Operating Systems and browsers:
- The recommended operating systems is Windows Operating System.
- The recommended browsers to be used when accessing InfoWeb are primarily: Internet Explorer(I.E.)
- InfoWeb functions will work well with Netscape and FireFox on the Windows OS, but their behavior on these browsers cannot be guaranteed.
InfoWeb and the Macintosh Operating System :
- Currently the InfoWeb applications were created and tested against Windows operating systems and Internet explorer browser.
- The behaviour of these applications on a MAC OS is undefined; some applications will respond fine others will generate an error etc, especially considering the different combinations of operating systems and browser types available for MACs.
- The University is moving in the direction of supporting the Mac operating system, (see system requirements)thus services are being changed and updated to work adequately on Macs as they do on Windows machines.
- Until these changes are complete and tested, Please use the suggested OS and browser combinations mentioned above i.e. a Windows OS and an Internet explorer browser for best results.
Frequently asked questions regarding applications in InfoWeb
InfoWeb Statistics Collection :
- Web form used for collecting Statistics of All InfoWeb problems/incidents reported to the Service Points.
InfoWeb Problem Reporting :
- Web form primarily used to report InfoWeb problems. This form will be available for use only by the Service Points.
InfoWeb Infrastructure :
- Details of the InfoWeb infrastructure. Each function/Application within InfoWeb is documented indicating the Infrastructure, ownership, recent changes, outstanding problems, troubleshooting methodologies.
