- CSS2.1 testing:
- Reftest documentation added to testing wiki
- Build scripts still need a rehaul
- Next F2F March 29-31. Agenda
- Resolved: Richard Ishida will be editor of CSS Ruby spec.
- Resolved: CSSWG has no problem with deprecating DOMActivate
- Discussed scientific notation again, because apparently SVG already uses it. Concerns include:
- Confusion about where exactly SVG allows scientific notation and in which versions this is allowed.
- Allowing it in CSS would require changing the core grammar, which is supposed to remain stable.
- Not allowing it in CSS in general but allowing it in SVG-based CSS would require inconsistent parsing rules.
- Allowing it would create a new syntax for all CSS properties that accept numbers and lengths that will be accepted by newer implementations but rejected by older implementations. This has backwards-compat and browser-hack implications.
- Whether overall usability is increased or decreased by introducing scientific notation in CSS is debatable.
