A Full Name E-mail Address (FNEA) is a professional looking, intuitive e-mail address that displays your full name making it easy for people to remember. FNEAs are generally displayed in the form of Firstname.Lastname@uottawa.ca .
A FNEA is not a separate e-mail account; it is an alias for your existing Mailbox address (userid@uottawa.ca).
E.g. existing Mailbox account = jsmith@uottawa.ca
FNEA address = John.Smith@uottawa.ca
All active, regular employees who have an email account in the form of userid@uottawa.ca are entitled to a Full Name E-mail Address.
Those with MS Exchange accounts are given an FNEA automatically upon creation of their Exchange account.
Mailbox users must fill out the Computing Help form to request a Full Name Email Address.
Once Mailbox users receive the e-mail confirming the creation of their FNEA and the 24 hour activation period has passed, they must configure their e-mail client so that their Firstname.Lastname@uottawa.ca address is displayed in the From: field of any e-mail they send. People will then see the FNEA instead of the Mailbox address when they “Reply” to messages.
Graduate students must fill out the Computing Help form to request a Full Name Email Address.
