Languages Laboratories
The Language Laboratories at the University
of Ottawa have always been an integral part of the support services offered to
students enrolled in programs at the Second Language Institute, the Department
of Modern Languages and Literatures and the Department of Linguistics. An even
larger clientele will use the language laboratories to acquire essential knowledge
and skills. The creation of the new multimedia language facilities has
again placed the University of Ottawa at the forefront of language teaching in
Canada. These new facilities will allow teachers, students and researchers to
take advantage of all types of new multimedia software programs and information
packages available in conventional formats, such as CD-ROMS or Videodisc, or via
the Internet. With the arrival of multimedia, language laboratories have been
transformed into electronic classrooms, enabling users to explore and interact
with outside world. LOCATION Simard Hall 60 University St.
