  • 🚢 Strengthening UK Buyer-Supplier Relationships in a New Era of Trade This week's multi-billion pound expansion in government-backed financing marks a major step forward for British businesses, large and small. With UK Export Finance and the British Business Bank's Growth Guarantee Scheme offering enhanced support, thousands of companies - like Rolls Royce and Alicat Workboats - will be better equipped to manage tariffs, expand internationally, and strengthen supply chains. This isn't just about finance. It's about reinforcing the buyer-supplier relationships that underpin UK trade, innovation, and economic growth. As Chancellor Rachel Reeves put it: "The world is changing, which is why it is more important than ever to back our world-leading businesses." Buyer-supplier relationships are the backbone of the UK economy. • 🔌 Building a Clean Power Workforce for 2030 🔋 The UK government has taken a major step forward in its Plan for Change - with a focus on training young people for the thousands of green energy jobs and apprenticeships needed to deliver clean power by 2030. 🌱⚡ For Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, the message to public sector stakeholders and the supplier community is clear: the transition to clean power isn't just a climate imperative - it's a workforce opportunity. From renewables to grid upgrades, this is about building a clean power army and unlocking the potential of homegrown talent to drive economic growth. It's why public sector stakeholders are now being urged to:  ✅ Champion local training and skills development ✅ Support inclusive recruitment into green careers ✅ Align procurement and partnerships with clean energy goals To find out how Delta's eTendering portal empowers buyers, enables sustainable procurement and supports the UK's clean power journey, visit: https://lnkd.in/gDwDUKF9 #NetZero #CleanPower #PublicSector #GreenJobs #SkillsForGrowth #UKInfrastructure #LevellingUp #Sustainability

  • 🔍 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗲-𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 The UK Government has launched a full-scale review of every quango to ensure efficiency, accountability, and value for the taxpayer. If an organisation's purpose can't be clearly justified, it may be merged, closed, or have its functions returned to central departments. The move, led by the Cabinet Office as part of the wider Plan for Change, is designed to create a more agile and productive state. For public sector buyers, however, this signals a significant shift: increased scrutiny, simplified procurement pathways, and a renewed focus on outcome-driven delivery. • UK Spring Statement 2025 – Key Takeaways Chancellor Rachel Reeves has delivered her 2025 #SpringStatement, setting out plans to stabilise public finances and support economic growth. Key highlights include: 🔹 Growth forecast downgraded to 1% 🔹 Inflation expected to average 3.2% this year 🔹 £3.4bn in planned welfare savings 🔹 £2.2bn boost to defence spending 🔹 Major planning reforms to unlock 1.3M new homes 🔹 HMRC crackdown to raise £1bn through tax compliance 📊 A statement focused on balancing fiscal discipline with long-term investment. #SpringStatement #UKeconomy #PublicSpending #FiscalPolicy #RachelReeves #Budget2025

  • The Chancellor expanded on her earlier announcement regarding increased defence spending, detailing how the government intends to use the additional investment. She emphasised her ambition for the “whole country” to benefit from the boost in funding. At least 10% of the Ministry of Defence’s equipment budget will be directed towards emerging technologies, including drones and AI-powered systems. The investment will drive advanced manufacturing and job creation in areas such as Glasgow, Derby, and Newport, opening up new business opportunities and increasing demand for skilled workers. The “Plan for Barrow” will also take centre stage, with the town—described as being “at the heart of national security”—set to benefit from thousands of newly created jobs.

  • If today’s #SpringStatement demonstrates anything, it’s that the public sector marketplace is more dynamic than ever before, with a wealth of opportunities for buyers and suppliers alike.   Whether it’s the £2.2Bn increase in defence spending or a further £3.2Bn to make public services more efficient, effective and focused on the user, public sector stakeholders will soon be able to leverage increased buying power to deliver the UK government’s Plan for Change.   However, the UK’s prosperity is contingent on developing robust and resilient buyer/supplier relationships.
