Working Hours – 40 hours per week, working between 07.00hrs – 18.00hrs, with the requirement to be on call one week in five. Occasional Saturday/Sunday work will be also required on rotation

KIMS Hospital has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Hospital Engineer (Mechanical) to join our busy Facilities Management Team. You will be required to assist with the preventative maintenance required to the KIMS Hospital buildings and equipment.
Role Responsibilities Include
Liaison with contractors appointed on Maintenance tasks, capital projects and minor upgrade works.
To liaise with subcontractors and the in-house team regarding plant or equipment, update and take instruction from the line Manager.
Provide such flexibility as necessary to cover emergency works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and participate in the on-call rota.
Observe all statutory and legal requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety at Work Act, Health Technical Memoranda and current legislation.
Use system for work processing and monitoring of estates Maintenance procedures in the required timescales.
Undertake Authorised Person duties as per operational requirements.
To provide subject matter experience and advise on operational requirements in either Water, Ventilation, Medical Gases, Pressure systems and Decontamination.
To be able to risk assess, identify hazards in the workplace and implement control measures.
Person Specifications
A good knowledge of Hospital building services not limited to but including Ventilation and Air Conditioning and associated control systems, Heating and Cooling systems and all other general mechanical installations.
Apprenticeship trained with a minimum of City & Guilds in an engineering environment.
Good verbal, numerate and inter-personal skills
Knowledge of Mechanical plant and systems
Can promote, monitor, and maintain best practice in health, safety and security.
Respond promptly to service requests
Fault finding on electrical and mechanical equipment
Support with the preventative maintenance of all other KIMS Hospital buildings and equipment as necessary including heating & hot water installations, fire alarms and security systems
