About us
Women are hugely under-represented in the Data industry – as things stand, male Analysts and Data Scientists outnumber their female colleagues 4 to 1. Addressing this imbalance isn’t just the right thing to do ethically. Data shows that everything from workplace satisfaction, to business profitability significantly improve when an organisation strives for greater diversity and inclusivity. Women in Data® plays a key role in driving for more accurate representation wherever data is being gathered and analysed. We provide the platform that allows professionals at all levels to share their knowledge and experience, while working alongside businesses to help them embrace and develop the enormous advantages generated by diversity. The changes we’re affecting are cultural and systemic. Offering everything from professional networking and knowledge transfer, to our Women’s Health Commission, Women’s Safety Commission, MenopauseX and Girls in Data initiative. Our work is creating measurable impact for the partners we support and the community we host.

Strong start at the Women in Data® conference: fantastic speakers and panel members, with a large focus on ai and agents, but more importantly, my face 3d carved in chocolate and covered in edible gold dust (thanks GoogleCloud and BigQuery!)

Ming Tang, Elisa Sai, and Dr. Fay Beck delved into the topic of equity in digital health, exploring the impact of gender and ethnicity on NHS App user engagement. They discussed how data-driven decisions can help tackle health inequalities. 💡 Thank you for shedding light on this important topic. #WomenInDataFlagship2025 #WomensHealth #Healthcare
Had the pleasure of attending the "Equity in Digital Health: Insights from NHS Leaders" panel session today with Ming Tang, Fay Beck and Elisa Sai at Women in Data® Flagship event! The panel explored the impact of gender and ethnicity on NHS App user engagement and how data-driven decisions can help address health inequalities. A great conversation on the future of healthcare digitalisation and its implications for equitable access and quality of care. Looking forward to seeing how these ideas will shape the future of healthcare! Emma Harrison Imy Younge Vanessa Fernandes Jenny Wilkins #DigitalHealth #EquityInHealth #WomenInData #NHS #HealthTech

So excited to attend the Women in Data® Flagship event 2025. Dress code is 'wear something red' 🔴 - well, when you see an ocean of red, hear about the way 'girls in data' support and inspire the next generation of data practitioners, it feels incredible to be part of the community, and to catch up with a few lovely people!

A sea of red and a tidal wave of influence. I hope I am wearing enough red! Privileged to finally attend the Women in Data® flagship event. Have seen it from afar but always worried that maybe men weren’t really welcome. I could not have been more wrong. It’s a glimpse into the sense that I believe that women might find in male dominated environments: am I really welcome here? Am I valued here? Am I safe here? I’m sure that often they have not had the positive reception I have received today. I hope I am an ally to the many talented women in my team and my function. I have learnt so much from incredible female leaders in the past (thank you Helena Miles !) that I aim to pass on to those I work with. I am sure I’ll post again later on what I learn…thanks James Smith for the invitation.

"At a time when women weren’t even expected to study mathematics, Ada Lovelace’s vision and imagination helped shape the future we live in today." Did you know that the LEGO minifigure is named after Ada Lovelace? 📸(Share your picture with ADA in the comments section!) #WomenInDataFalgship2025

What a brilliant day at the Women in Data® event in London — always an inspiring space to connect with fellow change-makers, innovators and champions of inclusion in tech. I couldn’t resist grabbing a quick photo with Ada — the LEGO tribute to Ada Lovelace, a true STEM icon. Often referred to as the world’s first computer programmer, Ada’s work in the 1840s laid the groundwork for modern computing. At a time when women weren’t even expected to study mathematics, Ada’s vision and imagination helped shape the future we now live in. As someone who champions the role of women in tech and data, being reminded of Ada’s legacy — in LEGO form, no less — was the perfect moment of reflection (and a little fun too!). Let’s continue to make space for women and girls in STEM — not just in history books, but in boardrooms, classrooms, labs and leadership roles.
