An independent, global company with Scottish roots, we craft some of the world’s most iconic spirit brands.

About us

William Grant & Sons is an independent, family owned premium spirits company. When our founder William Grant established our company in 1887, he had a vision to make the best dram in the valley, and that vision stands true today as we build brands that are loved the world over. These include our eight core brands: Glenfiddich, Grant's, The Balvenie, Tullamore D.E.W., Drambuie, Hendrick's Gin, Sailor Jerry Rum and Monkey Shoulder. We have distilling and bottling operations in Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, India, the US and Mexico and a team of over 2,600 people at 48 global locations. We consistently win the industry’s top accolades, which are testament to the quality of our liquid, our dedication to our craft and the talent of our people. One hundred and thirty four years on, we are leaders in the international spirits industry and have ambitious plans for growth to ensure our business is sustainable for the long term. William Grant was a true pioneer. He worked with a close-knit team of talented and passionate people to create a legacy that endures and their spirit is very much at the heart of our culture today.

  • In collaboration with British designer and artist Dr Samuel Ross MBE, The Balvenie unveils TRANSPOSITION at Milan Design Week Fuorisalone 2025.   The installation offers a bold interpretation that captures half a century of interwoven stories from The Balvenie Fifty Collection as a sensory hospitality experience. Ross’ work distils the essence of organic landscapes, industrial progressions, and material alchemy – a reimagining of tradition, driven by artistic expression.   If you want to experience TRANSPORTATION at Milan Design Week, book your visit here: https://lnkd.in/eFBqj3jv

  • The Sailor Jerry Flash & Rum World Tour has kicked off, making stops so far in London, UK, and Milan, Italy.   The events hark back to the brands roots, highlighting the legacy of Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. Famed for fathering the art of flash tattoos, his tattoos are iconic and artistic, traditional and full of legacy, electricity and edge.   Alongside Jerry Colas, present at the events were some of the world’s most iconic traditional tattooists. With waiting lists of months, and sometimes even years, for one day only, these artists allowed walk-in guests the opportunity to get a flash tattoo (which could be done in one sitting).   Next stops on the tour include France and the US. #Pleasedrinkresponsibly

  • In April 1961 Glenfiddich was launched in a green triangular bottle, making our oldest product our newest product.   Known as the “tround”, the iconic triangular green glass bottle, first crafted for William Grant & Sons in 1956 by Hans Schleger was initially used for Grant’s whisky. This design was bold for the time, and represents the trinity of whisky making – water, yeast and malted barley.   Today the “tround” remains central to Glenfiddich and Grant’s and has become synonymous with the brands.   This photo shows the very first case of Glenfiddich “trounds” to be bottled in April 1961, and the evolution of the bottle today.   #Pleasedrinkresponsibly

  • Glenfiddich and Aston Martin F1 Team made its mark on Shanghai during the Chinese Grand Prix. At the centre of the experience was the Club 1959 Pop-Up, hosted at cultural hotspot Zhang Yuan Shanghai, and named to commemorate Aston Martin’s first year of F1 racing. Over the course of seven days, the space welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, showcasing the Aston Martin F1® Team replica car, driver racing gear, and the ultra-rare 1959 bottle – Glenfiddich’s 65 Year Old whisky which was released to celebrate the partnership. Guests also enjoyed curated tastings at the Club 1959 bar, featuring the Gran Series and Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, alongside expert-led masterclasses.   The pinnacle moment: a Gala Dinner at Fosun Foundation that ended with an after party and spectacular Glenfiddich drone show over the Shanghai skyline.   Race day brought it all trackside with an Aston Martin F1® Team VIP Suite experience, where guests were treated to Glenfiddich signature serves and world-class hospitality.   A bold expression of heritage, innovation, and excellence—and a proud moment for our partnership. A huge thank you to our partner, Aston Martin F1® Team, for bringing this dream partnership to life.   #Pleasedrinkresponsbily #Neverdrinkanddrive

  • William Grant & Sons is delighted with the Competition and Markets Authority’s announcement on its approval of our acquisition of The Famous Grouse and Naked Malt brands from The 1887 Company.   Soren Hagh, Chief Executive Officer, said, “This is an important moment for William Grant & Sons. The acquisition of The Famous Grouse, when completed, will further demonstrate our significant commitment to building category momentum in Scotch Whisky in the UK and in our markets globally.”   Completion of the acquisition remains subject to customary regulatory approval in certain other countries, and we will continue to work constructively with the relevant authorities.
