  • We said farewell to the Cefas Endeavour this week, pictured here leaving the dock following a very busy, but successful 13-day stay at UK Docks Marine Services #Teesside. The AW Ship Management-operated vessel supports all aspects of Cefas activities from fish stock surveys to launching autonomous monitoring equipment. It was designed to minimise underwater noise, and therefore disturbance of fish – ensuring better results from sonar equipment. Work carried out included: HPWW & full paint scheme of underwater areas, topsides, gantries, ‘A’ Frames and funnels. There were also ship side valve overhauls, Rudder, removals, repairs and refitting, tail shaft seal insitu replacement, Windlass overhaul and pipework renewal.

We are looking forward to attending the awards night organised by Family Business United and sponsored by TWYD & Co in London this June. The competition for the North of England award will be incredibly tough with some fantastic, #family companies in the running. So good luck to our fellow North of England finalists Candour Care Group, English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, HMG Paints Ltd, Newman and Bright, Penningtons Tea and Coffee Ltd, Packaging Products (Coatings) Ltd) and The Fine Bedding Company | B Corp™. Hopefully, whichever company wins the North of England category also wins the overall award to focus deserved attention on the region as a hotbed of thriving family businesses.
