We’ve maintained our CarbonNeutral® company certification for the sixth year running with leading carbon market specialists Climate Impact Partners. Being a carbon neutral company demonstrates our continued commitment to climate action now, and complements our longer-term term science-based targets and ESG strategy. We’ve transitioned to supporting only nature-based carbon removal projects for our Scope 1 and 2 emissions in line with the latest best practice, while we continue to enhance the completeness and accuracy of our Scope 3 emissions. We are also continuing to reduce emissions across the board where possible, with recent measures including ensuring our new Manchester office has no fossil fuel supplies, updating our co-owner sustainable travel policy, and extending our car leasing scheme to include electric vehicles. Through our partnership with Climate Impact Partners, who have over 25 years’ experience running some of the largest and most innovative carbon offsetting programs in the world, we are sure to exclusively support projects that are independently verified and have a real and positive impact on the climate. Many of these nature-based solutions also support sustainability goals beyond climate action, such as biodiversity and community climate resilience. We have supported Muse with the submission of a hybrid planning application to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council for the regeneration of Mell Square in Solihull town centre, which seeks to deliver up to 1,600 homes. More: https://lnkd.in/e2vY-BvH We are providing expert services for the application, including Planning, Strategic Communications, Environmental Impact Assessment, Heritage and Townscape, Economics and Sustainability. If approved, the plans to regenerate Mell Square will improve the overall town centre offer and help diversify the local economy. The new, mixed-use neighbourhood will also include shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, and public spaces, as well as opportunities for other uses such as office space and a hotel. New town centre living – including build-to-rent and affordable homes – aims to attract young professionals and families, whilst restaurants, bars, and entertainment opportunities aim to diversify the daytime offer and encourage a new evening and nighttime economy. The application also includes a range of flexible, biodiverse, green public spaces and improved pedestrian routes. The submitted proposals have been shaped following significant engagement with the community and partners across the town centre. #MellSquare #Solihill #PlanningSubmitted

Faster, fairer and fit for purpose? Ten years on from the transfer of planning powers in Northern Ireland, Senior Director, Michael Gordon reflects on what has been achieved and what more needs to be done: https://lnkd.in/eJHU8Qsn On 1 April 2015, planning powers in Northern Ireland were transferred from central to local government, marking the most radical reform of the Northern Ireland planning system for 40 years.
