A huge ‘thank you’ to the amazing team at Taggstar for treating our staff to massages today. The masseuse was fantastic, and the massages were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! Our team works incredibly hard every day to support vulnerable women experiencing homelessness, and this thoughtful gesture was truly appreciated. A special thanks to Marjorie Leonidas and Alison Wiltshire ☺️
About us
The Marylebone Project is one of the largest and longest running women's homelessness services in the UK. We provide support for women affected by homelessness, domestic violence, substance use, unemployment, mental health issues and more. Whatever their story, we aim for the same ending: self-esteem, employment and independent living. We do this by providing shelter, emotional and practical support, education and training opportunities, spiritual space and events. The Marylebone Project is Church Army's flagship project.

We're featured in a Glamour Magazine article! We're incredibly proud of our client, Leila*, who has boldly shared her story of how she's overcoming homelessness and helping other women to do the same through her advocacy work. We are passionate about bringing women's experiences of homelessness, which are so often left in the shadows, into the light - and this article is doing just that. Thank you to Glamour's impressive purpose editor Lucy Morgan, who, alongside commissioning urgently needed stories for a far-reaching Condé Nast audience, has lead the campaign to ban abusive pornographic deep-fakes and consistently stands up against abuse. Thank you also Fern Bain Smith for facilitating this article, Amy Hull for your support, and especially to Leila* for bravely sharing her story. *Name has been changed https://lnkd.in/eCiDcV2v

#MothersDay can be tough for many, especially for mothers facing hardships like those supported by the Marylebone Project. Homelessness and motherhood can mean raising kids in a hotel, losing custody, or facing the loss of a child. If today is hard, we see you 💐

Marylebone Project reposted this
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the power of action. #AccelerateAction is more than a theme to us, it’s what we’ve been doing through our charitable partnership with the Marylebone Project, the UK’s only 24/7 emergency shelter and support service for women facing homelessness. The Marylebone Project provides vital, empowering support to thousands of women every year. Over the past year, our partners and employees have come together to fundraise, volunteer, and share skills to help this work. We chose the Marylebone Project as our charitable partner because we wanted to make a difference in our local community, and because of our track record of gender equality and support for women. We are excited to continue working together this year. Watch the video to see more about the Marylebone Project’s amazing work and the impact we’ve made together so far. #IWD #ForstersLLP

For some, Valentine's Day is wonderful excuse to let your loved ones know that you care about them, or perhaps you think it's cheesy. But whatever your opinion on the holiday of love, there is a darker side - lavish gifts can be 'red flags' in disguise. Learn about the signs of #lovebombing, what to look out for, and what you can do to help 💔 Our first ever LinkedIn article, created by our fabulous Time for God volunteers - writing by Kim Sina Rosenthal and Illustrations by Judith Risse 💜

💜 Lived experience advocate and Marylebone Project member, Mila Mihaylov, spoke at the UK House of Lords to a room full of homelessness CEOs, MPs and a couple of Lords at Homeless Link's Parliamentary Reception yesterday 💜 We couldn't be prouder of Mila for standing up, and bravely sharing her encounters with abuse, rough sleeping and homelessness services as an LGBTQ+ woman. "I remember choosing to buy lipstick over food once. As a woman, you're the target of sexual assault and attacks - but the more vulnerable you look, the more likely you are to get approached. So it was a matter of survival." Although Mila moved the room with her powerful story, reminding individuals of the serious impact homelessness can have, she ended on a high note: "For the first time, authorities like Westminster City Council and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are consulting homeless people for their opinion on their strategies. I believe this will make a massive difference to ending homelessness long term"- Mila Mihaylov Mila's speech motivated decision-makers to keep people with experience of homelessness at the heart of their choices. Rushanara A. MP and Minister for Homelessness, shared this tribute to Mila: "We have to make sure that we build policies alongside people who've experienced homelessness and that they are central to everything we need to do. Thank you so much, Mila, for the work you do and for sharing your story with us today." - Rushanara Ali The event focused on a radical restructure of homelessness funding, from short-term to long-term, focusing on personalised and trauma-informed services. As a women's homelessness service, this kind of funding would help us offer our tailored support to an even higher standard. The sense of realistic optimism and news of increased funding, particularly brought by Lord Best and Rushanara A., left us hopeful. Together, we can end homelessness. Thank you Lord Best for hosting, Jamie Burton and Rick Henderson for providing us with such a warm welcome, Kate Alaway, Alex McKenzie and Elizabeth March for inviting Mila to speak, and Amy Hull and Fern Bain Smith for representing the Marylebone Project at the event.

✨️ Health and Wellbeing Day ✨️ Women experiencing homelessness face huge barriers when it comes to their health. According to Homeless Link only 37% of eligible homeless women have attended a breast screening in the last three years compared to 62% of the general population. Imagine being called for a routine check up when you don't even know where you're sleeping that night - it wouldn't exactly feel like a top priority right? But all women deserve the right to healthcare. That's why we bring informative sessions to a place where our clients feel safe and comfortable, and can take part in relaxing activities alongside learning about their health 💆♀️ Huge thanks to ELEMIS for giving hand massages, Taggstar for providing a masseuse for the day, Greenhouse Sports for promoting our women's sport and game sessions, Victoria’s Secret & Co. for donating bras and Imperial College London for sharing crucial information about breast screenings 👙 If you'd like to support our next health and wellbeing day, please do reach out! Thank you to the brilliant team who made this day happen Imogen S. Miriam Kennedy Ruth Foulds Carla BRETECHER Ruhamah Sonson Amy Hull Kim Sina Rosenthal Judith Risse 💜

Great conversations and connections at Baker Street Quarter Partnership’s Meet the Charity event! It was fantastic to meet so many locally-based businesses yesterday and discuss ways to create meaningful impact in our community. A big thank you to Ange Thomson Optimal Dental Health, PureGym, British Land, and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for taking the time to connect with us. Our Centre Manager, Miriam Kennedy, along with Deputy Centre Manager Semhar Rota and Social Enterprise Intern Kim Sina Rosenthal, represented us at the event.
