Onshore Power Analyst @ Shell | Powering a Just Energy Transition | Views are my own!

Last night I had the honor of speaking at The Climate Circle’s Voices event — a powerful gathering held to explore a critical question: In a world where the urgency of climate change demands bold action, how do we ensure our voices are truly heard? And let me just say — I’ve never spoken on a stage that was a yoga mat before… and I’ve definitely never experienced that much vulnerability and honesty in an event room. Both were unexpectedly powerful 🧘♀️ In my talk, I shared three reflections: 1. If you’re struggling to use your voice, ask yourself why. What’s holding you back? Do the work to understand and move through it. 2. Because finding your voice unlocks a world of opportunity — not just for you, but for the world around you. Solving complex challenges like climate change and the energy transition depends on interconnected people and ideas. When we speak up, we raise awareness, spark collaboration, and open space for new solutions. 3. There are people out there defining the limits of what’s possible — and they’re using you as a reference. Lead by example. Find your voice, because it helps raise a collective one. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up and shared, especially Abigail Smith, who spoke before me with such grounded confidence. I did my best to carry that energy into my own words! Deeply grateful to Yujia Du for creating such a unique space — and hopeful for what happens when we keep finding our voices, together.

"I know my work is meaningful, so why am I not happy?" I've had this thought at many points in my career. Having always worked in energy transition, and volunteered at a mental health charity for 5 years, I've also witnessed so many people experiencing this exact feeling in their purposeful, good-for-the-world careers. We deeply care about what we do, bringing passion, conviction, and hard work to our roles—far exceeding what’s written in the job description. The highs are exhilarating, but the lows go beyond just the project or the company, they touch our identity, dreams, and the values we hold dear. Being passionate about climate & wellbeing, I worked in energy jobs by day, volunteered at a mental health charity at weekends, and went on yoga and meditation retreats to help me answer some big questions: 'What is worth working for?' 'How do I balance pouring myself into the cause, with being a present, happy human?' In building The Climate Circle. I set out to support women not only in making a positive impact on the planet, but also in strengthening their ability to define their own meaning of success—because ambition comes in more than just one form. It's been a long time coming, but I'm very excited to be collaborating with Serena S. from Serenity by Serena to deliver our first wellness event this Saturday, 29th March. Join us for a morning of movement, breathwork and visualisation to help you reconnect, come alive and thrive in your life and work. https://lnkd.in/eG8ZzMCV
