  • Clever construction for your specialist industry. In our world, there are no simple projects, only specialist needs and clever solutions. And clever solutions only come from working with the right people. Experts in their particular field who know the design and construction processes inside out, can take ownership of the contract requirements, mitigate the risks, and guide your project through to completion. That's why we only employ industry-leading people with proven experience, supported by a hands-on team of experts and specialist contractors, who go beyond the build to deliver the best service and solutions possible. Because no two projects we work on are the same – each requires specialist knowledge of industries and their secure, sensitive processes, as well as expertise in technologies and regulation. Clever construction for specialist industries – that's the Sweet Projects Way. #CleverConstructionForSpecialistIndustries

  • Meet Liban, our Site Manager. Liban is participating in one of our latest initiatives, The Sweet Run Club, set up by the team in Hayes. The goal is simple: encourage the team on-site to run together before work, boosting both physical fitness and mental wellbeing. At Sweet Projects, we believe in balancing hard work with downtime. We fully support initiatives like the Sweet Run Club, because we know taking breaks for a run, a walk, or a coffee can help keep our both our minds and bodies healthy. It reduces stress and strengthens our team. While we often see only the work side of our colleagues, initiatives like this are a great way to build stronger connections, improve team dynamics and promote a better work-life balance.

It takes more than the house burning down to stop Sweet Projects becoming a #highperformanceorganisation ! Mid session with André de Waal we were evacuated to the car park whilst the fire service did their stuff! No worries. We continued our workshop and made our plan!

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆! Last week we conducted the HPO Champions Masterclass for Sweet Projects at a very nice mansion in the English countryside. Manley Hopkinson FRSA FRGS and myself sat down, for a whole day, with the Champions (which are all people employed at Sweets) to discuss how they can help their colleagues on the journey to high performance. One of the topics was how to start and keep the HPO fire burning. After all, during the transformation often the day-to-day business starts to interfere and before you know it the HPO transformation fades into the background. So the HPO Champions have to regularly organise an activity or event to get everyone sharply focused on HPO again, such as a barbecue. I had barely told this when the fire alarm went off! It turned out that a garbage can had caught fire during the drought, and then the shed, which also contained propane bottles. So we were immediately evacuated to the parking lot on the other side of the house. And there we just continued with our Masterclass! (thanks for the photo Scott Poulter (MRICS) (MCIArb)) Moral of this anecdote: please don't take what I say literally, keep the 'keep the fire burning' activity safe 😉

  • 1st April was a truly special day. Many of our incredible team members at our site in Hayes have been working tirelessly, all while honouring the commitments of Ramadan. To show our appreciation and mark their first Iftar, we hosted a fantastic halal BBQ. A huge thanks to Shaun Scott and his team from the Spitting Pig for serving up an exceptional halal feast. It was brilliant to see the team enjoying great food and even better company. Moments like this give us an opportunity to show our appreciation and highlight how proud we are of this team!

  • In celebration of Stress Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of mental health support within the construction industry. Ian Dovey, our SHEQ Director, shares the wide range of resources available to our team to ensure they’re supported in their mental wellbeing. "I’m incredibly proud of the support we offer our staff at Sweet Projects to prioritise their mental wellbeing. We provide a wide range of resources, including the Thrive Mental Wellbeing App for self-awareness and monitoring, on-demand GP services, a Health Portal and discounted gym memberships through Sage. Our team also has access to in-house Mental Health First Aiders, direct telephone support via Sage or the The Lighthouse Charity and local support groups through the 'Hub of Hope' (Chasing the Stigma). Additionally, we offer counselling services through Medigold Health. Recognising that construction can be a tough environment, we’ve rolled out mental health awareness training for our managers and resilience training for all of our staff, with the support of Mindful Training Ltd. This year, we’re introducing time management sessions to equip our teams with practical tips and tools to help them navigate everyday pressures. At Sweet Projects, we’re committed to ensuring our people feel supported, every step of the way."
