vestr, the Swiss fintech which offers a cloud-based software solution used by issuers of actively managed certificates (AMCs) has won the ‘SRP Best Educational Solution’ award at #SRPEurope2025 in London. As we continue our coverage of #SRPEurope2025, today the focus is on funds of #structuredproducts. “A fund of structured products is open-ended, it offers daily liquidity – the investor can get in and out,” Csaba Koppany, head of RMI solutions management at Schroders told the audience in London. Andrej Ogorevc, chief investment officer at Causeway Securities added: “A fund is aimed at investors who are willing to accept a higher short-term volatility in exchange for more predictable equity returns.” “A benefit for the individual investor is that the portfolio manager takes care of instant reinvestment of a structured product that matures or autocalls,” said Mark Fuller, a structured products specialist, who moderated the panel. Davy has won the award for ‘Best Distributor, Ireland’ and ‘Best Performance, Ireland’, at #SRPEurope2025 in London. “2024 was a year of significant growth for Davy’s structured product business,” Mark Caffrey, director, structured solutions at Davy told #SRP. Among the company’s offering for 2024 were autocalls, callables and protected bonus notes linked to European, Swiss and Japanese equity indices. “It is very important for us that we offer a compelling range of underlyings, product shapes and counterparty diversification to our clients,” said Caffrey. Panellists at #SRPEurope2025 discussed cost disclosure, best practices and challenges to meet the new requirements under the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s new CCI regime. “Key issues include the complexity of risk and cost calculations, the need for a five-year product history, and the potential for higher risk scores,” said Zak de Mariveles, chairman of the UK Structured Products Association Limited. Ayal Leibowitz, head of regulation, LPA said: “There are methodology problems as the risk calculation method is mixing complexity and risk.” “The industry is collaborating to provide detailed feedback and propose more nuanced, practical solutions to the FCA, hoping to develop a more effective disclosure framework that truly serves investor needs,” added Eddie Korol, senior product manager, LPA. The role of #structuredproducts in investment portfolios and the importance of education to increase adoption were among the topics discussed by a pane of experts at #SRPEurope2025 in London on 18 March. Thomas Chin, global head of structured products at Bloomberg, who moderated the panel, asked how clients use #structuredproducts and in what way they complement their investment portfolios. “We have a traditional core portfolio, mainly consisting of traditional investments like bonds and cash equity, and around that we have satellites, which could be private equity or structured products,” said Marcel Pronk, director treasury sales, structured products & FX at Van Lanschot Kempen. MoraBanc used to target #structuredproducts directly at end-investors, but nowadays they are also for portfolio managers who have different needs, according to Ferran Vila Llavina, head of structured products desk & flow desk, capital markets, while Matt Linker, head of derivatives, Arta Finance, has seen clients accessing alternative risk premia through structured products, particularly in Asia.
