About us
Combating water and energy waste, our vision is to change people’s relationship with water and empower both users and organisations to create a lasting impact on the environment and its communities. The Showerkap platform enables businesses to monitor and manage water in granular detail – delivering valuable insights that were previously hidden and reducing water and energy waste and carbon emissions. It gives building managers the tools to gain full visibility of a building’s water use – from a managed office space to a hotel with hundreds of rooms – metrics like volume, temperature and duration are all visible. Our unique, automated platform continuously monitors, reports, analyses, and improves water use and efficiency using real-time insights and data-driven optimisation. It improves water stewardship by engaging guests and staff with soft nudges, such as tips for water saving. Our innovation combines engineering and behavioural science in first-of-its-kind smart technology. The system features a smart box connected to flow meters, centralised cloud system and mobile app, to remotely monitor and manage water temperature and safety. It allows businesses to lower carbon emissions and enables the pursuit of net-zero targets to help meet the SD6 UN Goals for Sustainability reporting. Our business strategy is to partner with some of the planet’s largest water consumers, including hotels and universities, and we are in partnership discussions with some of the UK’s leading businesses.

Resource scarcity is in the headlines: from rare earth minerals to natural gas, our economies and political stability are tied closely to these materials. 💧But water? Let’s ensure that water resilience is at the very heart of our business and political strategy, for without it, there is no life. #WaterScarcity #WaterResilience #WaterManagement #WaterTech

🗣️ “𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.” Showerkap CEO Steve Harding is in this week’s news, as he outlines ways we can all reduce growing water bills. Behaviour change will be key to reducing water waste – we’re fully committed to helping more people understand the problem and to transform the way that we all value water. Our automated innovation – which combines a patented valve, smartbox and consumer app – gives organisations the ability to track and analyse their water and energy usage, measure CO2, detect abnormal events like leaks and maintain water safety, and ultimately reveal previously hidden water usage data. #WaterTech #WaterManagement #WaterBills #WaterResilience https://lnkd.in/ejuaAptn

We’re honoured to be working with forward-thinking, environmentally conscious hotels like the Sandman Hotel Group UK & Ireland Hotel in Gatwick. We’re installing our Showerkap Water Management System and sensors in their four-star hotel in Crawley, which accommodates many guests from the UK’s second busiest airport, Gatwick, as well as visitors to London and Sussex. Sandman Signature UK & Ireland are not only delighting guests with their service and comfort, but also their commitment to sustainability and resource conservation. Their dedication is shown through many commitments, from their community work to recycling approach, and they are also Green Key International certified (the eco-label and standard of excellence for tourism facilities since 1994) and now, also with enhanced water preservation and management with Showerkap. Early adopters like Sandman Signature London Gatwick Hotel are not just offering guests a more environmentally friendly stay, but will also help to reduce their water and energy use, costs and cut carbon emissions. Smart boxes in the rooms will upload data from the sensors to a centralised cloud system and mobile app. This platform will also support the operational team – by continuously monitoring, reporting on, analysing, and improving water use and efficiency, highlighting potential risks, waste or other issues. Stay tuned for more updates 💧 #SustainabilityHospitality #WaterMap #WaterManagement #WaterScarcityUK

💧𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 – 𝗔 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 💧 🇨🇾🌞 Cyprus is facing an alarming water crisis, following the driest winter in a decade – and the government is stepping in with a £2.5 million plan for desalination plants to alleviate hotelier’s fears that water insecurity will affect tourism https://lnkd.in/erganuZG 🇰🇪🌳 Unsung water heroes: Mangroves act as natural water treatment plants, filtering pollution and acting as a protection against saltwater intrusion into fresh water aquifers – an increasing issue as sea levels rise. Tidal forests like these in Kenya are a powerful, nature-led solution for water security and climate resilience, and for the humans and ecosystems that support us. But these ‘water guardians’ are shrinking; as this article in Nature Africa sadly outlines https://lnkd.in/dgGmBngD 🇬🇧 Leading business success with water stewardship: The UK Government and partners have formulated a 12-week certified water stewardship programme to support businesses to reduce their water use. The current programme is being supported by Yorkshire Water and funded through the Strategic Panel’s Market Improvement Fund https://lnkd.in/ePgbXsGt #WaterManagement #Mangroves #WaterSecurity #WaterResilience #WaterUse

💧𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 – 𝗔 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 💧 🇫🇷 Drought and economic warning for the City of Lights: a report published this week by the OECD - OCDE flags potential ‘severe drought episodes’ that could cost Paris and surrounding areas up to €2.5 billion in economic damage by the end of the century https://lnkd.in/eWqxBKea 🇯🇴🤝🇪🇺 Collaboration between nations means significant, positive water news: EU and Jordan join forces to leverage water saving and management measures – with positive results. With half of the world’s population already facing water scarcity, this cohesion is so important https://lnkd.in/egfGPmXx 👷🏻♀️🚰 “When delivering a project, water management should just be a natural part of the conversation from the outset.” Julie Bankes at Willmott Dixon joins others in this insightful piece from Construction Management magazine Nadine Buddoo – where the role of construction in water management is explored https://lnkd.in/eB-__8tD #ConstructionWater #WaterManagement #WaterScarcity #WaterNews #WaterSecurity #Watertech

Abundance should not equate to apathy. 🗣️“By implementing behavioural change techniques 𝙣𝙤𝙬, societies can ensure they are prepared for future water challenges.” Water may seem plentiful where you live, and drought a distant issue – but summer hosepipe bans are not the only reason to instill water stewardship into our culture, as our CEO Steve Harding explores in Environment Journal’s Editor’s pick this week. 💧𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 – 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 🗻 Glaciers hold around three quarters of all fresh water on Earth. But glaciers are melting faster than ever; that’s why the United Nations is highlighting glacial preservation for World Water Day 2025. A warming planet is rapidly shrinking glaciers around the world, from the Andes to the Alps – and this means enormous unpredictability to water cycles, with powerful impacts on people and the planet – from drought to sea level rising. Meltwater is also not being used sustainably, like other water sources, yet is relied upon for health, agricultural and economic systems, not to mention environmental ones. Find out more about how protecting our remaining glaciers is so critical 🧊 https://lnkd.in/dmPq_Uq #WorldWaterDay #GlacialMelt #FreshwaterSupply #DayZero #WaterSecurity

What a night at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards! ⭐️ Although we didn’t pick up awards in our shortlisted categories – Innovation and Environmental Culture – we were in fine company with some amazing companies and organisations. Big congratulations to Copthorne Prep School and ILG (International Logistics Group Ltd) who scooped the award in each category respectively. 💎 We all had a genuinely fun evening, joining 400 enthusiastic attendees, entertained by host Ben Hanlin. Just being here together and reflecting on our journey over the last few years has been galvanising. So much has happened since Steve Harding founded Showerkap; we’re installing our water management systems, sensors and behavioural science tools in big name hotels this year – which is part of our strategy for scaling up, quickly. We know our platform encourages people to make better choices and reduce water and energy waste and CO2 emissions. We can all make a difference – water scarcity isn’t inevitable.💧 Carly Hunt | Cathy Kelly | Paul Harding | Malcolm Foreman #GatwickDiamondBusinessAwards2025 #GDB #GatwickBusinesses #BusinessAwards #Sussex
