Well done to Ian Young who celebrated 40 years at Scotmid and Andy Edwards who celebrated 25 years of service 👏 Here’s a look back at the amazing efforts across our stores last month in support of our Charity Partner, Maggie's Centres 🧡 🏃♂️What an incredible feat! Our store manager Neil ran an incredible an 5k every day in March, 155km in total (and over 12 hours in total on the treadmill) raising over £1000 for Maggie’s! https://lnkd.in/eBqXTpmt 👋 Our teams have been fundraising instores too! Scotmid Co-op is taking a huge step towards a greener future! We're excited to announce a landmark 10-year green energy deal with RWE, the UK’s largest power generator. 🔋 From April 2025, over 280 of our locations, including Scotmid stores, Semichem, and Scotmid Funerals, will be powered by renewable energy from the London Array offshore wind farm with 40% of our energy now coming from this source. The move will not only reduce our carbon footprint but also help us and 4 other co-operative partners work towards a net-zero future. 🌍 We’re committed to using 50,000 Megawatts of green energy over the course of this agreement, making significant savings while supporting ethical and sustainable practices. "By working together, we are not only taking meaningful steps towards reducing our carbon footprint but also contributing to the UK’s collective efforts to reach net-zero.
