We understand the challenges of digital forensics: Data volume and variety: Large amounts of data from many devices need efficient analysis tools and expertise. Volatile nature of data: Digital data can be easily altered or deleted, requiring prompt evidence capture. Encryption and obfuscation: These techniques make accessing critical information complex. Legal and ethical issues: Cross-border investigations face legal challenges in data privacy and international regulations. Forensic experts must use legally and ethically sound methods. To find out more about the difference between imaging and RAM capture, defensible processes and data preservation, take a look at our latest articles series about digital forensics: https://lnkd.in/eXDKPe9V

Challenge: Identify evidence of procurement fraud, collusion and kickbacks Our solution: The Salient team imaged six suspects' laptops and mobile devices onsite, in-country. Using AI-driven forensic analytics, we performed preliminary suspect identification. We extracted procurement and vendor information using CAATs, assessed internal controls and risks, and ran forensic analytics to identify procedural outliers and red flags. The outcome: We delivered our results within the local 30-day investigation time limit and we exposed enough validation within this time that the 6 suspects warranted further investigation.
