  • Salford City Council is delighted to confirm the appointment of a new Chief Executive, Stephen Young, who is currently Chief Executive at Halton Borough Council. Bringing a wealth of experience to the role, with over 30 years working in the public sector, Stephen is expected to take up the role in the autumn. Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: “I’m delighted to confirm Stephen’s appointment; this really is an exciting appointment for Salford City Council.   • Salford City Council working alongside Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust have up to six available positions for adults sector registered social workers. We're looking for an inpatient assigned social worker, two forensic social workers and three advanced social workers (one registered as replacement) . With these positions based around various Salford locations and the Edenfield Centre at Prestwich Hospital in the borough of Bury. The inpatient CAMHS social worker will play a vital role in supporting young people admitted to mental health units doing psychosocial assessments, liaising with local authorities and advocating for young people's care and resources within the unit. Forensic Social Work will have you assess, treat, and advocate for adults with mental illness who have experience with the criminal justice system. Advanced Social Work practitioners will support the Principal Manager in the delivery of commissioned social work contracts to Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As well as working alongside a multidisciplinary team with having evidenced based practice and advanced clinical skills to address social, psychological, and legal issues.
