📰 Featured in the Racing Post Earlier this week the British Racing School offered pony riding experiences for autistic children in a collaboration between Racing Foundation-funded @autisminracing and the Newmarket Pony Academy. Founded in 2021, Autism In Racing was created to promote awareness and inclusivity within the racing industry for those diagnosed with autism. Since its creation the organisation has overseen a number of initiatives, such as the installation of permanent sensory rooms at Aintree, Cheltenham and Ascot, designed to provide a calm, quiet and safe environment in which to fully enjoy a day at the races. 🏇🏽It’s the first day of Aintree festival! Every horse running at Aintree will be filmed during pre-race examinations as part of the Sleip trial. Sleip uses artificial intelligence to analyse a horse's gait straight from a video recording, allow the BHA to keep a digital record and objective assessment of the horse’s movement which complements the vet’s opinion. The trial is funded by the Racing Foundation and, if adopted, will add an additional layer of scrutiny to the pre-race trot-ups commonplace within race-day checks. 📰 Featured in the Racing Post Former jockeys Jimmy Quinn and Franny Norton are among a dozen riders set to take part in a fundraising race at Chepstow in August in support of Autism In Racing, an initiative funded by the Racing Foundation. Founded by racing broadcaster Bobby Beevers, Autism In Racing promotes inclusivity by providing sensory and quiet rooms at racecourses, employment mentoring for people wanting to work in the racing and breeding industries, and education.
