A few weeks ago we celebrated the first graduating cohort of the Principality Academy, and I can honestly say it has been the highlight and proudest achievement of my career. What started as a tiny seed of an idea on a Miro board, has grown into a powerful, people-led programme that’s helped colleagues across PBS build confidence, grow professionally, and challenge themselves in ways they never imagined. Over the past 12 months, I’ve had the privilege of watching the delegates take leaps of faith outside their comfort zones, find their voices, and challenge themselves in ways gthey never thought possible. Just like a phoenix, this journey has been about embracing challenges, increasing confidence, rising to new heights and transforming financial careers. Our delegates have shown that growth and opportunity are always possible when we lean into discomfort and believe in our potential. I've also grown professionally, learnt a lot about what i'm capable of and I am so proud of what has been achieved. 🌱 However, this would not have all been possible without the wonderful people involved: 👏 To the incredible delegates - thank you for your energy, openness, and commitment to growth. 👏 To our wonderful SMEs, SLT, Line managers, mentors, and supporters - thank you for giving your time, your knowledge, and your encouragement so generously. 👏 To everyone behind the scenes who helped shape and support this vision - thank you. Over the past few months, our colleagues have held a wide variety of events and activities for our colleagues. Here are just some of the highlights: 👉 We celebrated LGBT+ History Month, with our Pride Network group hosting Stonewall Cymru to talk about key moments in LGBT+ activism in history. 🏳️🌈 👉 Our colleagues, led by our Planet Friendly Network took part in the successful Guinness World Record attempt for the most people participating in a river clean at one time. 🌍🫶 👉 Our GROW Network organised an incredible event for International Women's Day. They celebrated the remarkable women in our 165 year history. 💪 👉 Our colleagues came together for a Sustainability talk with our Chair, Simon Moore, co-hosted by our Planet Friendly Network and Cuppa Club Network, which offered an interactive hybrid networking Q&A session. 🌍☕ 👉 We celebrated St David's Day with the opening of our new, relaxing library space in Principality House, designed to help colleagues decompress and focus on their wellbeing.
