Creating a kinder and safer space for queer people in tech.

About us

Pride in Tech is a community that exists to make the working world a kinder and safer space for queer people. We host unique networking initiatives via our event programme, working in collaboration with the wider tech community, businesses, and brands who are passionate about creating a more equitable working world. We are PROUD to be a certified B Corp and stand with a network of organisations committed to putting people and the planet over profit. With our fantastic hosts and panel members, we aim to reduce the negative impact of the economic and professional hardships that disproportionately affect the LGBTQIA+ population. We also deliver podcasts, blogs and workshops. Check out our website for more information. This is a comfortable and supportive space for LGBTQIA+ folk and allies alike, a platform that seeks to raise queer voices and put the spotlight on their talents in a climate where they’re so often ignored. We are part of Trinnovo Group, a community-led recruitment and advisory business on a mission to build diversity, create inclusion, and encourage workplace innovation. Our diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging approach to business enables us to create career access for underrepresented individuals everywhere.

  • Thank you to ustwo for hosting our first Pride in Tech event for 2025! Brilliantly chaired by Karl Perry, Principal Consultant at Trust In SODA and Pride in Tech Lead Ambassador, we enjoyed an exceptional panel discussion on the topic of 'Queer AI: Bias in the Binary'. Follow our community group Pride in Tech for details of future events, our latest podcasts and blogs.

  • Meet our speakers! Introducing our very own Karl Perry, your host for the evening: Karl is the Global Community Lead for Pride in Tech and a Principal Consultant at Trust in SODA, where he provides diversity-focused talent solutions for the most exciting brands in the tech sector. Karl has worked on scaling teams for early-stage startups and large-scale multinationals across the UK, Ireland, and Germany. A self-professed geek, when he's not connecting people with inclusive, high-growth opportunities in software engineering, you can catch Karl gaming or going to live gigs and music festivals (Glastonbury is his favourite). Karl is passionate about making an impact, building communities, and creating a kinder working future for historically underrepresented candidates in technology. • 📣 Meet our speakers! Head down to our event next Thursday to see the wonderful Alasdair Blackwell in action: Alasdair (he/him) is a full-stack designer and developer, passionate about the web, and thrilled to be a Tech Lead at ustwo focused on delivering experiences that are accessible and respectful of our users’ privacy and security. Throughout his career Alasdair has worked at the cutting edge of technology: as cofounder of edtech Decoded he taught millions of people to code and helped get Computing onto the national curriculum; at web3 pioneer Everledger he secured the first bottle of wine on the blockchain (for his sins); and at lots of less successful startups since he has attempted to harness technology for social good (perhaps not including his lockdown side project KeyPaws that used AI to detect your cat on your keyboard...). An amateur celebrant in his spare time, Alasdair is a warm and enthusiastic person who will bring a unique perspective on AI and its impact on Queer and other underrepresented people. 🌟 Get your tickets here to save your space: https://lnkd.in/eqjzBM37

  • 🌟 Meet our speakers! Introducing the fabulous Anna Wawrzonkowska, who will be joining us for our upcoming event 'Queer AI: Bias in the Binary' with ustwo on the 27th: Anna Wawrzonkowska (she/her) is a Product leader, social scientist, and writer. Her key research interests are the large-scale frameworks around data privacy: how surveillance powers the digital economy, how the emergent forms of AI supercharge this trend to affect citizens' rights, lives, bodies, and futures, and how to protect them all via policy and tech solutions. Industry experience underpins Anna's expertise. Since, 2021 she has worked on decision engines automating complex business processes - or AI before it was cool. After getting her double Oxford degrees in Linguistics and Sociology of Technology, she has built identity verification solutions, processing sensitive data of millions and grappling with the practical ethics of implementation. She has worked for the European Parliament, Groupon, Globality AI, and the UK IDV platform Thirdfort. Anna is a Polish Kurpie woman and an ally to all Indigenous and First Nations people everywhere. Don't miss your chance to hear from Anna! RSVP to save your space here: https://lnkd.in/eqjzBM37

  • December 1st designates World AIDS Day, a time to unite in the fight to eliminate HIV and AIDS, and a time to remember those we’ve lost. First observed in 1988, World AIDS Day shines a spotlight on the incredible work done to provide essential support to those affected, the progress we’ve made, and the distance we still have to travel. The LGBTQIA+ community face extensive stigma around AIDS and HIV, partly a result of misinformation, insufficient funding, and perpetual discrimination, sometimes from within the community. We are now better equipped to combat the spread of HIV than ever before, and yet decades-old discrimination challenges persist, slowing progress at every opportunity. We must work together to build a brighter and safer future for all. Let’s celebrate the resilience of all those affected by the virus, those who continue to face stigma and discrimination on a daily basis. The Pride in Tech community looks forward to driving change together. Progress starts with learning. The more awareness we can raise, the easier it becomes to create space for meaningful conversations.
