Today’s informative webinar on Geospatial Apprenticeships, led by Lucy Powers BA (Hons), MBA, FInstCES, Co-Chair of the Trailblazer Group, provided valuable insights into the geospatial surveying apprenticeships. Lucy highlighted how these apprenticeships play a crucial role in raising industry standards and ensuring competence. The qualifications are specifically designed for geospatial surveyors, covering the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for a successful career in the sector. Cronton College (Widnes, North West) and Dudley College (West Midlands) are now accepting students for a September 2025 start. Employers are encouraged to connect with the colleges early to access support and secure apprentices. Progression opportunities are also clear—those completing the Level 3 apprenticeship can advance to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, continuing their professional development. Apprenticeships offer a cost-effective way to train staff, with significant government funding available to support employers.
