🚢 P&O Ferries to ease Easter queues for school coaches from Dover 🚍 This Easter, P&O Ferries will be the first ferry operator to streamline journeys for school groups traveling from Dover to Calais. We’re helping to bring a UK-French government scheme to life which is designed to ease queues and simplify coach processing during the holiday peak. Here’s how it will happen: ✅ Pre-approved Travel: Schools that share passenger details 72+ hours before departure will benefit from faster transaction times at the French border, avoiding extensive checks at Dover. ✅ Visa-Free Travel for Visa Nationals: Non-UK students with visas in the UK can travel without requiring an EU visa for school trips to France. These innovative steps mean smoother, quicker, and more enjoyable journeys for school groups as they embark on their adventures. We're proud of our coaches team who have worked tirelessly to implement this system for the busy Easter season. Here’s to supporting seamless school trips and creating memorable experiences 🛳️ #POFerries #SchoolTrips #SeamlessTravel #DoverToCalais #proudlypando

🦁 Last week, The Big Cat Sanctuary completed their rescue of five lions from the Ukraine as part of their long campaign #BigCatsInCrisis. P&O Ferries were delighted to be part of the final stage of the journey to bring the lions over to the UK. Thanks to Cam Whitnall from #TheBigCatSanctuary, Geert Wijnands at Crossborder Animal Services B.V. and to Tony Butel and the crew of P&O Liberté for welcoming the team. 🦁 🛳️
We did it… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 🦁 After almost a year of hard work and determination, we can proudly share that we have successfully rescued five lions from Ukraine, and moved them into to their new forever home: The Lion Rescue Centre. Rori, Vanda, Amani and Lira, have now been reunited with Yuna and moved into their new habitats. This is a significant moment for everyone here at The Big Cat Sanctuary, as the team are now able to give all five lions a second chance at life. None of this could have happened without all of your support. THANK YOU. 💛 Follow us for updates on how the lions settle in and support their journey by becoming a MEMBER today! ✨ #TheBigCatSanctuary #rescue #BigCats #Lions

Dover District Council (DDC), Veolia UK, National Highways, Port of Dover, DFDS and P&O Ferries are working together to help address the huge amounts of litter discarded on one of the main routes into #Dover - with a joint awareness campaign being piloted for the first time. In 2024, Veolia, on behalf of DDC, cleared over 23,000kgs (2.3 tonnes) of #litter and debris from the dual carriageway between the Duke of York and Whitfield roundabouts. The Port of Dover attracts 2 million #freight vehicles and 1.3 million #tourist vehicles each year, all of which use the district’s high-speed #roads to access the #port, and the clearance cost of roadside litter (and related road closures) has a big impact on residents, visitors and taxpayers. Not only does it look unsightly, discarded rubbish can endanger #motorists and #wildlife too. Any high-speed road clean-up requires detailed planning to minimise the disruption of road closures and delays to traffic - while ensuring the safety of operatives undertaking this work. The ‘We care’ campaign - targeting drivers who use the A2 route - will take place over the summer, following a planned clean-up this month. Poster packs are also being distributed to local businesses to enlist their support for the campaign. Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/enVRctAt

⚓ Windfarm arrival at Cairnryan Port ⚓ This week, Cairnryan Port welcomed the 108m Dutch-flagged vessel, Adriatic, to its second berth for an impressive delivery of wind turbine blades destined for local wind projects. This delivery was the first of ten such shipments, using Cairnryan’s unique advantage of having a second berth next to the main ferry berth, with ample quay space for unloading and storage. 🚢 Special thanks to agents Kestrel Shipping and to the Harbour Master, Tom McKay, for his work as berthing advisor Also to Offshore Work Boats Ltd. for providing the pilot boat, Medwin Owl. This was a great achievement and collaboration across P&O Ferries’ Cairnryan and Larne teams with our partners. The ship's Master was very happy with the port and discharge operation – we look forward to many more successful collaborations and projects ahead. #proudlypando #Cairnryan #Larne #WindPower #Teamwork

What is it like to work with your Mum – or daughter? On Employee Appreciation Day – and ahead of International Women’s Day - we want to recognise the fantastic efforts and dedication of all our colleagues and the positive impact they make on our organisation every day. Our recent Our P&OPLE Awards have celebrated achievements across the business – and one winner, Drew Murdoch from Cairnryan has won the overall company award for collaboration two years running. Drew works alongside her mother, Darlene Murdoch at in the customer operations team at Cairnryan port – and they have both spearheaded the introduction of important new company systems during their time with the company. We decided to put Drew and Darlene Murdoch on the spot, to hear about how their careers have developed across two generations, to celebrate their achievements and hear what it is like to work together each day. #EmployeeAppreciationDay

Transforming a British Icon Peter Hebblethwaite, CEO of P&O Ferries, was recently featured in The CEO Magazine. In it, he shared his insights into transforming a 187-year-old legacy company to focus on innovation, growth, and sustainability. The article highlights: - The critical role of employees in this transformation - how the dedication and professionalism of our people are pivotal in navigating the challenges and driving positive change. - How P&O Ferries and its extensive network of major UK ports play a crucial role in our parent company, DP World's strategy for a global end-to-end supply chain. - The challenge of attracting a new generation of ferry passengers. Peter comments, “There is a generation of people who have never considered ferry travel because they grew up in an era of low-cost airlines. However, an interest in sustainable travel and the cost-of-living crisis put us in the sweet spot to attract new, experiential generations of passengers.” 🔗Click here to read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e5ubM7TB #Logistics #Sustainability #Innovation #Transformation #Maritime #POFerries #DPWorld #TheCEOMagazine #proudlypando
